Financial planners, investment advisors, and other financial professionals have a duty to:
- provide the public with the highest quality of financial planning and investment advice possible;
- always put the client's interests first;
- only make investment recommendations that are suitable for a client given the client's investment objectives, financial needs, and personal financial situation;
- perform the due diligence necessary to ensure the suitability of all investment recommendations, as well as the consistency between recommendations made and the implementation of such recommendations.
